![]() ![]() I had instances when calibrating to a lut version resulted in pink banding in highlights, very visible. But the largest patch set available for profiling is 113 so the LUT variant is of limited use. You can do two types of profiles - matrix or LUT. With such a small patch set it would be a miracle to not validate. For example the validation routine just verifies 15 patches (13 grey balance and the 3 primaries). The Palette Master Element Software is just a very primitive version of X-Rite own software (which originally was not very good either). The main selling point of this monitor is the ability to custom hardware calibrate. BEWARE !!! NOT AVAILABLE!Ĭustom Calibration & Palette Master Element Software BRIGHTNESS UNIFORMITY FUNCTION IS -NOT- AVAILABLE IN CUSTOM CALIBRATION SLOT. Benq keeps a little secret (atleast in their primary marketing material). In some cases the deltaC difference from center to corner was up to 3.7. You can see Uniformity Check Custom Calibration mode in the archive. ![]() Also a few more subtle clouds along the edges. ![]() Moreover it had a diffuse black spot bottom center of the screen, sticking out like a sore thumb. I mean in your face, not something subtle. I knew from the first 30 seconds of turning on that this monitor will go back. So if u can get a decent uniform screen (deltaC In custom calibration you can get decent results at 850:1 contrast ratio, but in my case screen uniformity was unaceptable (compensation function is not available). TLDR: Uniformity compensation works ONLY in factory calibrated AdobeRGB and sRGB slots. ![]()
